Atmosphere

I am currently working hard trying to write a report for computer science, having designed and evaluated a new wiki. It’s hard going! Heading down to the uni library after tea to encourage myself to work more efficiently! On a little aside, the library is open to 2am… is anyone there at 2am at this time of the year??

I made it to church last night (yes, after the crazy, lack-of-sleep CU houseparty), and I’m so glad I did. Vineyard has quite a different feel about it in the evenings. I can’t quite put my finger on it. It reminded me of a quote from Mark Batterson’s new book,

That is what worship does. It changes the spiritual atmosphere. It charges the spiritual atmosphere.

Houseparty

Was away with Glasgow Uni CU this weekend on the houseparty. We heading to Auchengillan Outdoor Centre, not too far outside of Glasgow, for a bit of teaching, relaxation, and general banter! I had a great time hanging out and getting to know people better. Much fun.

auchengillan

Some of us decided it would be good to see sunrise this morning… that is the view for the hill. We set off up a hill to watch the sun rise and took communion together. It was beautiful. I loved it. God is mighty.

Creation is beautiful. Take care of it.

A Day In The Life

Off to see delirious? play tonight in Glasgow. Excited. More so about Tim Huges than delirious? But excited all the same.

In other news, I have just been floating around uni this week. Going to lectures. Popping into the beanscene for a wee hit. (I like it there!) Going to some more lectures. Coming back to the flat. Eating lunch. Having a wee sleep. Going out. As you do.

Music and the likes

I need to do some work.

I feel quite bad as I’ve ended up having a pretty busy week (a lovely one at that) and have actually done no work whatsoever, besides turn up for lectures. And even that was hard a few mornings! 9am starts every single day.

Went to Barfly on Monday night. Flippin’ superb night! A few bands were playing as part of the Oxjam events. Much fun. My friends brother is in one of the bands that were playing, a ceilidh band. They were actually so much fun to watch and listen to. The rest of the bands were ok, but all pretty much sounded the same.

Fast forward to now. Friday afternoon. Tired. Needing to work. But being distracted by the computer/blog/photographs/music that is currently playing.

Must… focus… must… work…

Underground Treasure Hunt

Batwoman Pyramid

So today I took part in the underground treasure hunt that Glasgow uni C.U. organised… rather fun despite the small turnout! We got the tube different places around the city/uni, and had to find people in fancy-dress, where we then proceeded to carry out a task to receive their signature. Above is us meeting Batwoman, and creating a human pyramid while singing the Batman theme tune.

Pirate Pete

Pirate Pete… he made us juggle.

Spy

Dave as a spy… we had to accompany him along the road for a short period of time, trying not to draw attention to ourselves, despite the fact that he was shouting ‘Go! Go! Go! Don’t look suspicious!’ On an interesting side-note, Dave also did maths and computer science for the first two years of his degree… fun guy!

In The Bin

Ah yes… better not asking!

And so completes another day in Glasgow…

Off to see the wizard…

… the wonderful wizard of Oz!…

…well, not quite! Off to Scotland tomorrow to see a couple of universities. Tomorrow afternoon is Stirling University, then Thursday afternoon is Heriot Watt (Edinburgh). The parents are coming too, but I plan to spend a bit of time relaxing in Edinburgh… maybe climb Scots Monument if the weathers good, go to the park, stuff like that! So, have a great few days, and I’ll check in with you when I get back…

… Off to see the wizard…
