Anyone want to come surfing in Liberia with me?
Check out this unbelievable photo gallery on the BBC website.
I have serious wanderlust right now. Liberia. Sydney. LA. Portland. Kampala. Columbia.

Finally got round to reading Kerouac’s On The Road. What can I say? If ever there was a book that gave me wanderlust, it has to be this one. I’m desperate to just hop in a car and start driving across the States now…!
This book has been on my to-read list for a long time, and I’m so glad I finally got around to it. It’s a little insane, it goes in crazy directions at times, yet all the same I want to get on the road now too. Thinking about taking a little road trip across the US at some point next year perhaps… any suggestions? Must see places? Must do things?
While I was in London over the last few days, I got to catch up with some good friends.
Chris & Loz let me crash at their place for a night, and we went to see Coraline… great movie. All stop motion animated, it was unbelievable! Also got to hang out with my new friend Pete, and go to church (Hillsong London) along with him. Many other people also graced me with their presence, too many to name! Loved getting to spend time with friends. I’m learning more and more that it’s all about people.
Oh yea, and, I picked up a new camera…! Proud new owner of a Nikon D90.
Had a great few days away in London; feel very refreshed!
I’ve been off work for a week now, and I’m loving the chance to re-calibrate a bit. I love my job, but I have this tendency to work myself into the ground! I think it’s one of the pitfalls of being passionate about your work, of believing in what you do. I’m grateful for the chance to take a few days off, chill out, read some books, listen to good music, and so on. Makes all the difference!
That said, I’m getting ready to hit the road again!
The next few weeks I’ll be in various places for work, photography, and general amusement! If you want to grab a coffee/ drink/ dinner at some point, drop me an email or leave a comment.
May 29 – June 1: London
June 4 – June 8: Northern Ireland
June 8 – June 10: Manchester/ Peak District
June 20-ish: Northern Ireland
In between those times, I’ll be at home in Glasgow! I’m off for a few days holiday & a hen party in London, photographing at FUEL in NI, hanging out & debriefing with the gappers in the Peak District, and celebrating a big birthday with my mum in NI again.
Love how Mark Batterson puts it:
Change of pace + Change of place = Change of perspective
“In those days, I think I was looking for solutions to certain questions – now I’m looking for questions that become deeper the more you investigate them. I’m looking for places that will shake me up and force me to question things that I take for granted. I want more and more to be unsettled by places.”
