The King’s Speech

The King's Speech

After several weeks of failed attempts, I finally got round to seeing The King’s Speech last weekend.

I cannot recommend this film highly enough – one of the best films I have seen in some time! I loved the use of negative space particularly, something I haven’t seen used to the same extent in any other films.

Thoroughly deserving of all the award nominations!

Up In The Air

I’ve been a busy bee working away on wedding edits from New Years, which are now all done (you might get another glimpse of them soon), and haven’t been at the cinema much lately.

Today, I rectified that.

I went to see Up In The Air expecting it to be just a fun, slightly cheesy rom-com. Turns out it’s actually quite a thoughtful look at individualism and relationships. I’d recommend it – really enjoyed it.

Firefly

This series had been recommended to me what feels like a gazillion times by numerous friends, but I’ve only just managed to get my hands on a copy to watch. I finished the series off today, and… I loved it as much as everyone thought I would. Amazing.

Top Films Of 2009

A few of my favourite films this year, in no particular order:

500 Days of Summer

Where The Wild Things Are

Avatar

Glorious 39

Watchmen

Revolutionary Road

Away We Go

Adventureland

Honourable mention:

The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus

Have We All Ate Enough?

Phenomenal amounts of food over the past few days. Shame I couldn’t enjoy too much of it as I’ve been laid up with a killer sore throat that’s made even swallowing liquids painful. Seems to be on the up now though, which is good.

Came across this cool little video earlier while poking around on Vimeo, though you might enjoy it!
