I forget far too quickly how much I love live music. It makes me so happy. I really need to go to gigs more frequently.
Last night I saw the lovely Brooke Fraser at Oran Mor. I gotta say, I like her albums, but I’ve never been blown away by them. It’s a totally different experience live…. she was phenomenal. I don’t know if its just because she puts so much emotion and energy into a performance, but it sounded 20 times better live… I highly recommend you catch her gig if she’s playing anywhere nearby.
Who’s at fault is not important
Good intentions lie dormant
And we’re all to blame
While apathy acts like an ally
My enemy and I are one and the same
Impromptu BBQ with some buddies at Luss last night… beautiful!
We kicked off a new sermon series at church on Sunday, Life Apps. I put this little trailer together for it last week with the help of some willing participants…
“You are more than a creative and what you do is more than just art. You are a prophet, taking everyday, mundane things and shaping them into something to proclaim the life- giving message of the Gospel to the world around you.”
Spent a couple of days relaxing in the coutryside recently, and got to play with these beautiful animals…
After hearing about it on the Accidental Creative podcast a few weeks back, I picked up a copy of Josh Kaufman’s The Personal MBA.
Holy mother of all things good.
I did not put that book down for 3 days solid, until I finished it. If you’re looking for an easy to read, quick introduction to business, this is the book for you. It introduces some of the key concepts in easy to understand terms, and provides tons of further reading suggestions.
I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
Managed to get out to a little local gig last week, first one I’ve been at in quite some time. I easily forget how much I love those kind of gigs… crammed room, lots of little local bands, great music!
Discovered this little gem: Julia and the Doogans.
And if you’re not convinced, download some of their lovely free music & be convinced.
My last-minute road trip to Birmingham for Focus on Imaging was well worth it! As soon as I walked in I felt like I’d died and gone to photography geek heaven…
