And no, the ‘she’ isn’t me!
The ‘she’ is in fact two ‘shes’, two of my favourite ladies. Claire, and Jill, have both recently said yes to spending the rest of their lives with their respective boyfriends.
There could hardly be two more deserving people, and I am so thrilled for them!
Congratulations girls!
Starting to get very excited about being at Solas festival at the weekend….
David duChemin wrote this post yesterday which you should read. It’s one of the best things I have read in a long time, and I fully agree with him.
Gear is fun, and I love new toys as much as the next person… but it ain’t worth crap if you don’t have a story to tell. I met with a new client this weekend, and was sharing that even though I love shooting weddings, they serve a purpose… they allow me to fund the kind of humanitarian work that moves us to compassion and action. It was a reminder to me as much as anyone else.
That new D3s I’m lusting after? Yep, it’d be great. (And if anyone wants to gift me one, my birthday is coming up…!)
But that ticket to Rwanda/ Australia/ wherever… better.
Some lovely things in my life right now…
1. New hat! Thanks Urban Outfitters.
2. Decorating the flat.
3 & 4. Getting ready for the photobooth of awesomesauceness next week! Dez & Fi are going to rock it.
Earlier this week I went on a little photosafari with Thomas and Laura…. if you ever need a tour guide, Thomas would make an excellent one!
Things I am currently lusting after…

At a recent meeting in the Arches, I was admiring the work of Jenny Soep on their walls…. fantastic pieces of art based on live music events. She had some stunning pieces hanging, and when I have some disposable income again I plan to add some of her work to my collection.
On her website she requested not reposting any of her work, so please do pop over and check it out, as I have honoured her wishes here!
Check out her website to see some of her work, and read her blog here.
Saturday involved a little creative venture with the lovely Bora…. photographs in the middle of the road and big green doors? Yes please!
More on flickr.
I recently picked up a whole bunch of old cameras on eBay, and decided to take the Zenit TTL on my trip to NI at the weekend. I’m really happy with this first roll through it, considering I didn’t really have a clue what I was doing!
Big thanks to Thomas also, who gifted me a lovely gift card for Jessops to develop the films.
