Under A Vast Expanse

“There’s nothing large in our lives.”

[Douglas Coupland]

There is a beauty in the wide open sky that feels somehow symbolic of the space I need in my life. As all the colours mix into one, I am reminded of all the things in my life that have made me the person I am today. I’m reminded of the need to stop and simply drink in the beauty.

The vast expanse holds endless possibilities.
Which one to choose?
Which path to journey?

Lori & Connor

I had the privilege of taking some engagement photographs for my good friends Lori & Connor at the weekend while we were in London. They’re in a flickr set here now.

A few of my favourites…

Slowly getting used to the UK again! Spending the afternoon editing photos from my DRC trip & an engagement shoot for Lori & Connor.

Have I mentioned I love red cup season?

Change

I’m back from the DRC, a changed person, but in ways I cannot yet fully express.

A few days ago, the world changed because of the election of a new American president.
A few days ago, my world changed because of the Congolese people.

“If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.”

I hope Obamas words give us all hope for the future. I have seen some incredible things in the past few weeks in the DR Congo. All things are still possible. Another world is possible.
