Young ambition disappears
I swore it would never come to this
The average, the obvious
I’m still discontented down here
I’m so discontented
If we only got one try
If we’ve only got one life
If time was never on our side
Before I die I want to burn out bright
So a spark ignites
In time and space
To make it through this human race
You fight and crawl your way back home
But you’re running the wrong way
The future is a question mark
With kerosene electric sparks
There’s still fire in you yet
Yeah there’s still fire in you
If we only got one try
If we’ve only got one life
If time was never on our side
Before I die I want to burn out bright
[Burn Out Bright – Switchfoot]
Liking the photo
its the coolest!!!
good words too. . though i don’t think i’ve ever heard the song?
Thanks… though why cant I seem to get it centered in the page?? The song is on the new Switchfoot album, it’s not out here yet but I came across the lyrics via another website, and then found the song on YouTube.
ah… centered!
Funny and true story, I was just listening to “Oh Gravity'” (the name of the new album)in my car and “Burm out Bright” was the song tht was on when I got out of my car. The whole album is full of very intelligent writting. I was actually going to blog about it myself, but I need not do that, because you beat me to it. This is an album I would highly recomend, as is “Good Monsters” Jars of Clay’s new album. Both are fantastic from start to finish. not your average Christian music(in other words, it doesn’t sound like everything else out there).
Switchfoot is hands down my favorite live act, not many bands can pull their own music off the way switchfoot does live. A lot of their music has different sounds and beats mixed in. Much to my surprise and awe, ther litterally recorded and mixed in every unique sound live during there show, plus a few added cool things. So the short end of it is, they are talented and they ROCK!
like it – can you bring it to scrabble tonight? woo woo Scrabble is FIANLLY going to happen, woo woo!
x
Jenni — Scrabble was legendary, thanks a million!!
Shawn — Oh! Gravity isn’t released here yet, not sure when it’s out, but Switchfoot are playing a gig in Perth, not too far from Glasgow, next month which a lot of my friends are going too. Don’t think I’m gonna be going however, but I’m sure it will be good! Have heard that the new Jars of Clay album is good from a few people too, I like their stuff so may get it in the near future.
